Moving to Austin

Author: Joseph Sandoval

When I came to visit Austin a few years ago, I loved it so much that I knew I had to find a way to live there. Austin has a very lively art and music scene, and even though I am not an artist or musician, I wanted to be part of a community like that. There are also tons of great restaurants and bars, and that was a draw too. I started looking for a job there, but had no luck for a long time. Right when I thought that there was no hope for me, I got a call for an interview. Three weeks later I had a job offer, and I was on my way to Austin. Since I don’t know the town too well, it was hard for me to pick a neighborhood to live in. I thought the best thing for me to do was search alarm systems Austin and make sure that I had one set up when I got there. Knowing that was set up made me feel calmer abut my new surroundings. Now all I have to do is kill it at work, and things should be great.

Shadow Bloggers

These are the unsolicited guest bloggers that stroke your ego. I have a feeling that, given the opportunity, they’d be all too willing to stroke anything you asked them to. They write me emails like “I love your site and feel I could write a guest post that is a good fit.” What do I get out of it? Content. They get a link of their choosing on my site and I presume they get paid as well by the owners of that link. They have written good posts for me through the years as they remain in the shadows. Sometimes I wonder if they have blogs because what they do goes against what it takes to grow ones name and ones blog. Maybe it’s all legit and maybe it’s not. Maybe “Karen” is really a 400 pound sumo wrestler who works on the isle of Pirate Bay. Just my thoughts. You got any?

Moving

Contribution by Stevie Kirby

When my wife found out that I had accepted a position at a new law firm, she was excited until I told her where we would be moving. Personally, I have always wanted to live away from the city. However, she is a city girl at heart and never wants to be more than 30 minutes from the city. Unfortunately, the new firm I’ll be a part of is over an hour from the city. My wife told me that she supports me in my new job, but I think she is a little anxious about living away from all of the luxuries in the city. She thinks that we will not have access to any of the things we are used to now. I told her we can live close to all the stores that are available, and I even checked to make sure we could get good internet there by going to getwildblue.com. This eased her fears a bit, but I think she would rather stay in our home that we are in now. I told her that this will be the best move for our family in the long run and I think she will realize that once we move.

Residential Plaques

I bought some bronze address plaques for my home at an amazing site I want to tell you about today. My initial desire was simply to have a bronze “R” above my driveway. As I surfed through their website I realized the possibilities for a plaque on my home were endless. They have all sorts of bronze stuff (and other metals as well) and they specialize in residential address plaques. This is tons better than the guy who comes around asking for handouts to spraypaint a cactus or American flag on your curb.

When you check out the site you will see it has many sections. I am most interested in custom address plaques but you can find all sorts of enhancements for your home there. There are artistic items from plaques to mailboxes and for that reason this is definitely the homeowners ideal “bookmark” for this sort of thing. They have colorful, high resolution photos of their products on their website so if you are looking for plaques, what are you waiting for? Go click through their site, you will like what you see.

Add VALUE to Your Blog “U”

This is an excerpt from: Add VALUE to Your Blog “U”

Ubiquitous means being all places all the time. While this isn’t possible for a blog, you should still think outside the realm of normal presentation. By that I mean, blogging attention comes at many times and in many places on many … Continue reading

Got the deals

Thanks for the post, Bernard Vasquez

When we decided to get satellite tv it ignited a firestorm – we’d never had TV and with finances so tight my husband said he wasn’t sure if we should go crazy and buy one right now. The good news is that I found us some great deals and we got a plasma handed down to us from my brother so it was kind of a no brainer at that point. I love being able to keep the Cooking Channel on in the background during the day (I work from home) and I know my hubby’s loving all the football he gets to watch now.I don’t know why we resisted having a TV for so long because it’s totally worth it at the end of a long day but you know, I think it’s probably good we didn’t get too technologically dependent at young ages. We’ve talked about it and when we have kids we want them to watch minimal TV so they get outside and play as much as possible.
